I went camping at Lost Maples State Natural Area a month or so ago, and was fortunate that my timing was just right to see the maple leaves at their peak colors. The weather was optimal this fall, and the colors were better than the park has seen in several years. It's quite a treat to see bold yellows, reds, and oranges of these Bigtooth Maples, which are quite rare in Texas. To view the gallery click here or on the image above.
