I went up to Northeast TX last month to visit my folks and do some photography on Caddo Lake. After several months of dry weather, the lake level was extremely low (exactly the opposite of the previous October when heavy rains brought severe flooding).
My first boat tour was cut short by approaching storms; but the weather was more cooperative the next morning, and I was able to spend a few hours floating on the backwaters of the lake with tour guide John Winn. There was even a bit of color in the cypress trees (although temperatures were still warm enough that it didn't really feel like autumn, yet). To see the images click here or on the image above.
