For the second part of our recent vacation in Arizona, we went to Sedona. What's interesting about this location is that while the red rock formations are similar to what you can find in northern AZ or southern Utah, Sedona is a much greener place, with forests of pine, oak, and maple trees as well as lush vegetation along the creeks. We hiked some great trails there, including Sterling Pass and the West Fork of Oak Creek. To view the images, click here or on the image above.
For vacation this spring, we spent a week in southern/central Arizona. We started with visits to Saguaro National Park (near Tucson), and the Superstition Wilderness (west of Phoenix). After that we moved on to Sedona (pictures to come). Our trip timing was a little off; we were a few weeks late for the wildflower blooms, and a few weeks early for the cactus blooms (except some of the ocotillos). I went to San Antonio back in February to photograph the missions. Aside from a visit to the Alamo back in high school I'd never been to any of the missions, so it was something new to see & photograph. To view the images, click here or on the image above.
Been meaning to get these poster for a while but have just been a slacker. Here are some family pictures of the Turner clan from back during the holidays. To view the images, click here or on the image above.
